Pregnant women must be aware of the food they’re going eat. Almost all kinds of fruits are good for the health, but mothers should know that some fruits among foods that they provide for their body every day can cause high risk of miscarriage.
Here are some foods that can cause miscarriage:
* Papaya: Eating green papaya is the most common cause of miscarriage. It is because green papaya and unripe papaya contain enzymes which can cause uterine contractions and this lead to abortion.
* Pineapple: Pregnant women should avoid eating and drinking too much pineapple juice because this fruit can cause contraction which leads to miscarriage. Pineapple has bromelain which is able to soften the uterus and produces aborticide.
* Animal Liver: Any type of liver from pork, beef, fish, or chicken should not be consumed during pregnancy. Liver contains high amounts of vitamin A and cholesterol. Consumption of these excessive vitamin can adversely affect the fetus and cause abortion.
* Raw or Undercooked Protein: Raw or undercooked protein can be unhealthy for pregnant women because it can contain a parasite called Toxoplasma gondii that causes miscarriage.
* Crabs: Even though crabs has a high level of nutrients, pregnant women should avoid eating this because crabs can cause the uterus to shrink, which leads to genital bleeding or even miscarriage.
* Sprouted Potato: You should not eat potato when it is sprouted because it can contains various toxins that are harmful to the health of the mother and baby. There is solanin in potato with green sprout which cause the harm for the fetal growth.
Women should be careful with what they eat during their pregnancy because anything they consume can affect their unborn child. It is also important to consult your doctor about the foods you should avoid.
