Triatomines, also known as kissing bugs, may sounds like friendly insects, but be careful! These insects are named for their habit of biting on the face and around the mouth.

According to Elite Readers, kissing bugs are attracted to carbon dioxide exhaled by humans, and feed on blood. They are commonly found in the Southern United States, Central America, South America, and Mexico.

This little bugs passes along a serious parasitic infection known as Chagas disease to both human and animals that can cause congestive heart failure.
